Not at this time. We do have a test version of this we developed a while ago, and it is waiting for further development. We don't have a timeline for its completion right now, though we admins would certainly use it as well.

We have not implemented this feature at this time. If you have a particular calendar tool you'd like us to work with, please let us know!

AdminMatthew Pfluger (Team Leader, Athletix) commented  ·

Hello there! We have not added this feature yet, though we do have a version in testing. As soon as it is available, we will update this topic. Thanks!

We are planning an upgrade to the Survey process that will include inline editing of questions. At this time, we do not have a timeline for its completion, but it is something we intend to improve.

AdminMatthew Pfluger (Team Leader, Athletix) commented  ·

    Edward,

Thanks for filling out a suggestion. As a fellow official and having completed the Basketball survey, I understand your frustration. I agree that inline editing would be much more convenient.

Early on in the design process for the availability surveys, we made the decision to save every answer separately so that even if a user's connection was interrupted, only up to one question's work would be lost. With RefRanking, there were many instances of the entire survey not being saved even though the system sent a confirmation email. I understand that some of that can be attributed to bad forms design and HTML POSTs, but we wanted a much stronger design.

As such, each time an answer is submitted, the system saves that answer so the whole survey can be retained. This also allows you to stop filling out the survey and come back to make changes or complete it.

In order for us to support inline editing, we will need to convert from simple HTML POST commands to an AJAX call saving each answer. While this is certainly not impossible, it hasn't yet been high enough on our priority. We continue to work on the highest requests issues in this forum. When we do get to work on this request, would you be willing to participate in any testing?

Again, thanks for your feedback, and have a great day.

    Wayne,

Thanks very much for submitting this idea. We really appreciate hearing from you.

As officials ourselves, we understand and appreciate your desire to improve through the comments submitted by the coaches. This may be a great way for us to receive constructive feedback from the coaches.

Since the WIAA owns and directs the ranking process, we will need their input prior to us making any changes to the visibility of comments. I encourage you to reach out to Joan Gralla to suggest this idea to her directly. I will also be seeing Joan soon, and I will be discussing the site with her as well.

Again, thanks for your idea, and we hope you enjoy using Athletix!

    Hi Bruce,

Thanks very much for the idea. I would actually agree with you that I would prefer to have ADs and other Business Admins for schools download a copy of the W9 from a secure site within Athletix than always leaving a copy somewhere. I'm sure that not everyone feels the same way, and we'd certainly make something like this optional.

One other thing I like about this idea is that the Official could specifically grant access to others only upon request. That is, you could know who had accessed the information.

The biggest challenge to this feature would be that it would require us to enter a new level of security standards that our staffing doesn't really allow for at this time. We do have security built into our site, but this feature would put us in line with banking regulations. We certainly have confidence we could reach that point someday, but it will not be soon.

Thank you for your confidence in us, and we'll keep you updated if we do pursue this idea.

    Sincerely,

    Matthew Pfluger
    Team Leader, Athletix

We will review this idea after speaking with assignors about their preferences for this feature.

We will look into adding this feature to the My Availability section with options to select a date range and format to export to.

We are currently developing proximity settings which will help us create this feature.

AdminMatthew Pfluger (Team Leader, Athletix) commented  ·

Interesting idea, Dan! We are planning a feature to find officials within a certain radius of a Location (like a school, ZIP code, or city), but I didn't think of making something to find what officials are working where. I'm trying to think of a way to accomplish this while being a little more generic.

What about a feature to find what Events are scheduled within a given radius of a Location? That way, you could look at all the Event details, including the Officials. That might be a little more generic, but it would still accomplish what you're talking about, right?

Thanks for the follow up, Michael. For now, we will plan on creating a "wiki-like" page where an Official can create a rich text online Profile to provide others with background on his career. We will address systematic collection of other stats (such as # of 3-Person basketball games) in the future as the site matures.

AdminMatthew Pfluger (Team Leader, Athletix) commented  ·

As I look over some of your information, I note that some of it could be calculated by the system so users would not have to update it manually. For example, the stats of two and three person games. Assuming you could go back and enter previous year's data, this feature could be calculated automatically. The less I have to do manually, the better.

AdminMatthew Pfluger (Team Leader, Athletix) commented  ·

I envision this working like a wiki page. An Official would choose "Edit my Resume" from the menu and then he could edit the text of what the resume says. I think that would allow for a lot of flexibility and customized messages for the user. We could even have a sample page to give people ideas of what to put. What do you think?

Let's see what the ideas take us on this idea. I'm on board with a multi event as page, but I'm not sure how to make it very user friendly yet.
